Suspects accused of stealing from unlocked vehicles in Kirkwood

KIRKWOOD, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Police in Kirkwood are warning residents after two suspects were arrested for stealing various items from unlocked vehicles.  

On March 18, an unidentified suspect was taken into custody by the Kirkwood Police Department after he was found to possession of prescription pills, which were later reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

When he was taken into custody, the suspect admitted to entering four unlocked vehicles. The suspect told police he stole from two or three of the vehicles. His name is being withheld pending formal charges, police said.

Another suspect, identified as Tyler Jackson, admitted to burglarizing a home in the 300 block of Meacham and stealing a vehicle from an unlocked garage on March 29, according to the Kirkwood Police Department. 

Jackson told police he stole anything of value from unlocked vehicles to feed a drug habit.

Jackson was charged with stealing a motor vehicle, stealing over $500 and two counts of second-degree burglary. He is being held in the St. Louis County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
