ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – The new site of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency will be announced Friday morning.

The NGA is moving from its current location in south St. Louis to either north St. Louis or St. Clair County.

If the agency decides to move to north St. Louis it would be located at Cass and North Jefferson. The city has spent millions of dollars in an effort to bring the NGA to north St. Louis.

If the NGA leaves the city, it could impact city services, including fire and police, according to officials.

Officials in St. Clair County offered the NGA a piece of land next to Scott Air Force Base to use as the new site.

The agency employs over 3,000 people. Construction is expected to start in January of next year.

News 4 will have live team coverage Friday starting at 5 a.m. regarding the announcement.
