ST. ANN, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

A man and woman are accused of pointing a loaded gun at a child who was riding his bike down a street in St. Ann.

The suspects were driving in a car on Ashby near the intersection of St. Francois Drive when they allegedly pointed a shotgun out the window at a child riding his bike. The child reported what happened to a nearby police officer. That officer then found the suspects’ car not far down the street, police say.

“He observed the vehicle pull around another car in an erratic fashion. From there he [the driver] tried to run another bicyclist over. Once he missed and continued on, that’s when the officer was able to stop him,” said Lt. Danny Cowsert with St. Ann Police.

Police say the officer arrested the two near the intersection of Ashby and St. Matthew. The officer also found the gun inside the car. Police do not believe the gun is stolen.

Officers are not sure which of the two suspects pointed the gun. Both are currently in custody.

According to police, the man had a warrant out for his arrest for an unrelated incident.

Police are waiting for warrants to be issued in the case and expect charges to be filed soon.
