ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Friends and family paid their respects to a woman who they say touched so many others lives Wednesday.  30-year-old Jocelyn Peters was found shot to death last week in her Central West End home. The Saint Louis Elementary school teacher was seven months pregnant at the time.

"Why, why, why? But whoever did this, I am praying for your soul," said Lacey Peters, Jocelyn's mother.

News 4 was invited by Peters to attend the service for her daughter.

"She never gave me any problems. She did everything that she is supposed to do as a daughter, mother and as a sister," said Peters.

Peters, joined by her son Antonio Graham held back tears as they talked about a woman they call phenomenal.

"I just really looked up to her she was amazing," said Graham.

Peters says Jocelyn was very involved with the family.

"Her turn-up on a Friday night was having pizza at her aunt house and playing monopoly and watching her godson read," says Peters.

The last time Peters spoke to her daughter she says was the day of her murder.

"I spoke with her and I said good morning and I said ‘you asleep?’ She hung up the phone that wasn't usually like her," said Peters.

The biggest question the family has is why?

"If you have any leads, any questions, any concerns, maybe something that was just totally you wouldn't even think about that happened you need to let the homicide detectives know because this just doesn't make any sense. It just doesn't. She had so much to give to the world," says Peters.

As the family waits for answers, they say Jocelyn's memory will never fade.

"Just to smile when you see the sun shining, know that it's her smiling down on everybody," says Peters.

Peters wanted us to let everyone know that if you had baby shower gifts for Jocelyn, please donate them to the Crisis Nursery. So far, no arrests have been made in Jocelyn’s death.
