BALLWIN, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Two teens are facing charges for their alleged role in a home invasion and robbery at an apartment complex in unincorporated St. Louis County.

Matthew Peterson and Landon Cremeens, both 18, are charged with five counts of first-degree robbery and armed criminal action.

Peterson and other suspects allegedly forced their way into an apartment complex on Woodcrest Manor Court. The suspects were armed with two AK-47 guns and a glock pistol, police say. The teens allegedly then asked the victims for their personal property.

Neighbors say the crime is even more disturbing than normal because the area has very little crime.

“It’s a fairly quiet neighborhood, fairly quiet area. I’ve never felt unsafe but it’s a little disturbing,” said a neighbor. “It definitely makes me more on guard, making sure my doors are locked, comings and goings, and it’s really dark back here at night. It’s not properly lit.”

Police say Cremeens admitted to driving the suspects to and from the crime scene. Officers found AK-47 guns inside his truck, police say. Authorities say other suspects were involved.

Editors note: The original story referred to the location of the incident as Ballwin, Missouri, but the home invasion took place just outside of Ballwin city limits.
