ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) - Residents in Midtown say a car has been parked on the 3800 block of Delmar for months and nothing was being done about it.

"I just want to see it gone. I don't want anyone to get in trouble, just move the car," said Anthony Doss, resident.

Residents say they called the Citizens’ Service Bureau to report the parked car, but for weeks nothing happened until News 4 started asking questions on March 29.

"I don't know when it first got here, but I know if it was my car, I wouldn't want it ticketed in front of my house like this," said Doss.

Doss says he reported the car to the city in February. In the meantime, he says the tickets kept piling up. Not only that, he says the car once had four tires and now is left with three.

"I just wonder if it is another part of town this happened in would it be sitting here this many months, not weeks, months," said Doss.

Doss wasn't alone in his concerns. Another resident, Clifton Gordon, says many neighbors were also worried.

"The car continues to sit there, not sure what is going on. It is an eyesore and it just doesn't do the neighborhood any good sitting there like that," said Gordon.

Doss says the last notice he got from the city was that the job was completed and it was a work in progress.

"I am not sure what that is supposed to mean," said Doss.

News 4 called the St. Louis Treasurer's Office to find out what was going on. Hours later, the car was gone.

The Treasurer’s Office released this statement:

"A vehicle is eligible for booting and towing if there are four or more delinquent parking tickets issued to the vehicle.  A parking ticket is delinquent if it is unpaid 22 days after issuance.”
