ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Firefighters responded to a fire that damaged a two-story, occupied home in the 3500 block of Nebraska Avenue of the Gravois Park neighborhood at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday.

30 firefighters fought off the fire. There were reports of fire burning in the back of the building. Occupants on the lower level tell News 4 that they heard a loud boom. Six people were on the first floor - two adults and four children. They are uninjured.

A dog was on the porch and was killed in the blaze.

Investigators say it's too early to say if arson is the cause.
