IRONDALE, Mo. (KMOV.com) - Stray Rescue of St. Louis rescued 17 starving dogs from a property in Irondale, Mo. Friday.

According to Stray Rescue, someone spotted the dogs on a rural property near Irondale, took a photo of the dogs and posted them on Facebook.

The pictures caught the eye of the Stray Rescue’s Founder, Randy Grim, who then reached out to the elderly woman who owns the property. He said the woman requested that Stray Rescue save the dogs.

According to Grim, the woman claims the dogs are not hers, but says they were dumped on her land by others and are left to fend for themselves.

17 dogs were rescued and Grim said more may be rescued soon. Grim is not sure how many of the rescued dogs will live. He also said the rescued dogs are extremely starved.

No law enforcement officers were involved in the rescue.
