ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

A woman who was 7-months pregnant was shot and killed in the Central West End Thursday afternoon, police say.

Jocelyn Peters, 30, was found dead in her bed by her boyfriend in the 4200 block of West Pine, police say. She was shot once.

Authorities say there was no sign of forced entry into the home. A gun was not found at the scene.

Peters was a teacher at Mann Elementary in St. Louis City. A spokesman with the St. Louis Public Schools said there will be crisis response team at the school starting on Monday to help students and staff.

The district later released a statement:

The Saint Louis Public School District is deeply saddened to learn of the tragic passing of Mann Elementary School teacher Jocelyn Peters.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Ms. Peters’ family and the students and staff at Mann Elementary School.

The District’s Crisis Response Team has been activated and will be on site to provide support to students and staff on Monday when school resumes after Spring Break.
