Couple accused of keeping meth around their children

LINCOLN COUNTY (KMOV.com) – A couple is facing drug charges after investigators say they found meth and heroin throughout their home.

Katrina and Christopher Maxson were arrested at their home on Marigold Court in Troy, Missouri.

According to authorities, detectives discovered meth and two types of drug paraphernalia in the couple's master bedroom. Detectives said they also found a syringe underneath the sink in the main bathroom where their children kept their toothbrushes.

Police said both suspects admitted to doing drugs in the basement while their 9-year-old and 8-year-old children were inside the house.

The children are currently in protective custody, authorities said.

The couple is charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Both suspects are currently housed in the Lincoln County Jail on a $15,000 cash-only bond.
