SOUTH ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – A home invasion in south St. Louis has police searching for two suspects.

Police say on March 20, two men wearing surgical masks, one armed with a gun, went inside an apartment at the Southwest Crossing Apartment Complex on Germania Avenue.

Inside the apartment, one of the suspects held all of the victims at gunpoint while the second suspect stole cell phones and purses from the victims, police say.

The suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction.

The crime has residents on alert.

"I have been aware of different things going on and I'm just very careful when I come out," said Christine Reising, resident.

There is a St. Louis Police substation at the apartment complex that residents say has deterred some crime.

Police ask anyone with information about the robbery to call them.
