Suspect arrested in death of man found inside car in North St. Louis

ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – A suspect was arrested for the death of a 35-year-old man found dead with multiple gunshot wounds in north St. Louis Saturday afternoon.

Police say that Adonnis Smith, 22, of the 3900 block of Palm, allegedly killed Brandon Ellington, of the 6900 block of Pine Ridge Drive.

Shortly before 3 p.m. Saturday, Ellington was found on a curb in the 3900 block of Lexington. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation revealed Ellington was shot while inside a parked vehicle in the area. After being shot, authorities said, he exited the vehicle and collapsed at the curb.

Smith was charged with first degree murder and armed criminal action. His bond was set at $500,000 cash-only.
