ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – If weather conditions are favorable, a controlled burn will take place in Forest Park Monday.
From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., controlled burns will take place at Wildlife Island in Post-Dispatch Lake, portions of Hidden Creek Savanna near Central Fields and Savanna in the JFK Memorial Forest along Skinker Boulevard.
The St. Louis Department of Parks, Recreation and Forestry will burn the areas to “help maintain the vitality and health of the savannas and prairies far more effectively than mowing or taking no actions,” according to a press release.
