SOUTH ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOV.com) – A South St. Louis County woman is facing charges after allegedly stealing during a school holiday party.
Police say Nicole Barnes, who is also a “room mom” at Oakville Elementary, took credit cards out of another mother’s purse during a holiday party in December 2015.
Barnes allegedly spent nearly $4,000 on the cards. Officers say they tracked her down after catching her on surveillance cameras.
According to police, Barnes admitted that she was present at the holiday party, but denied taking another mother’s wallet or making any purchases with the stolen credit cards. Police also showed the surveillance videos to Barnes, but she denied she was the person depicted.
Barnes is charged with one count of stealing a credit card and a second count of fraudulent use of a credit/debit device.
