ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOV.com) – Three new businesses are moving to Manchester in west St. Louis County.

Joey B’s Food & Drink is weeks away from its grand opening, right across the street the fast food chain Culvers just broke ground on a new location, and by the end of the year, Academy Sports will open in the area.

The owners said this was the perfect location because more than 55,000 cars pass through Manchester Road and Route 141 daily.

City Administrator Andy Hixson said all three businesses are setting up shop without any tax incentives. The city has a low utility tax, and there is no red tape to fight through when working with planning and zoning.

“We have a lot of great areas, we have a lot of properties for sale which is great and like I said before with the economy coming back people are looking to build. Planning and zoning is just swamped right now with permits and everything which is great. We are the first wave that comes through when the economy comes back,” Hixson said.

It’s too soon to gauge the economic impact these new businesses will have on the area, but they are bringing in hundreds of jobs.

Between March 21 and March 28, Joey B's Food & Drink will be conducting in person interviews for various positions between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. at 14445 Manchester Road.
