Posted: Updated:

(KMOV.com) - A former employee of the Veterans’ Administration was recently sentenced for embezzling veterans and survivors benefits.

Terrence Starks, 37, of Bunker Hill, will serve 30 months in prison on charges of fraud and aggravated identity theft.  Authorities say he accessed the VA software system to route benefits to a bank account controlled by his girlfriend.

He also faces three years of supervision after he’s released, and a fine of $20,000 in restitution.
