Vladimir Tarasenko has earned the National Hockey League’s first star for last week, the league announced Monday morning.
Tarasenko helped propel the Blues to a perfect 4-0 record and to the top of the Central Division while tallying three goals, six points during the week.
The honor is not unique to Tarasenko, who was also named a star early in the season. The forward’s game had not produced at a high level of late, but last week Tarasenko surged.
The winger already has 33 goals, 61 points through 68 games this season and is on pace to break his career-high in goals (37), which he set last year.
Tarasenko is also within striking distance of reaching both the 100-goal and the 200-point marks for his career. He needs one score and four points to eclipse both.
The other two stars of the week went to Florida forward Vincent Trocheck (second star) and New Jersey goaltender Keith Kinkaid (third star).
