BRIDGETON (KMOV.com) -

Former President Bill Clinton campaigned for his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, in Bridgeton, Missouri Tuesday.

Clinton, who held the event at the Machinists Union Hall in Bridgeton, Mo., said he was not in town to discuss what happened when he was president in the 1990s. Instead, he talked about his wife’s plans for the future.

“This has nothing to do with me except to make you believe we can do this. We are finally at a point when we can all rise together and we can elect a president that will allow us to rise together,” said Clinton.

The former president discussed several issues that are important to the former Secretary of State including raising the minimum wage, tackling student loan debt, controlling health care costs and Supreme Court appointments.

Clinton was in town one week ahead of the Missouri primary, which takes place on March 15.  Illinois holds its primary on the same day.
