ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A jury awarded $5.2 million to victims of a deadly tent collapse that occurred in downtown St. Louis in 2012.

In April 2012, authorities say a strong gust of wind blew away a large tent outside Kilroy’s Sports Bar near Busch Stadium, sending people scrambling.

The incident killed 58-year-old Alfred Goodman and injured nearly 100 others. Many of the surviving victims joined the lawsuit filed by Goodman's family.

Goodman’s wife filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Kilroy’s, claiming they were negligent in allowing people under the tent despite dangerous weather conditions.
