ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Police are investigating a shooting that began near a south city restaurant.

The incident began just after 3:00 a.m. Sunday morning.

Three victims, two females and a male, were involved in a minor car accident in the parking lot of Uncle Bill's restaurant off of Kingshighway. The victims exited their vehicle and overheard a female subject tell the suspects it was the victims who struck them. Police have not confirmed the involvement of the subject.

The suspects approached the victims, and, fearing for their safety, the victims drove across the street to assess their damage. Then the victims drove north on Kingshighway.

The suspects, who police say are all male, followed them in their gray Chevrolet Impala. The suspects then shot at the victim's vehicle, a red Jeep Patriot. A black Monte Carlo then joined the chase of the victims and both the driver and passenger began shooting at the victims.

The victims fled westbound on Interstate Highway 40. The people inside the Monte Carlo shot numerous times at the victim's car, police said.

The victims contacted the police after they fled to South Hanley Road, where they pulled into a Richmond Heights QT gas station for help. A female victim received gunshot wounds to her back, hip, and thigh. She was transported to the hospital where she is listed in stable condition.

The male victim sustained a graze wound on his arm and refused medical treatment.
