Family members of man hit by MetroLink train speak out

Posted: Updated:

(KMOV.com) – Family members of a man who was hit by a MetroLink train are saying they want answers about what exactly happened to cause his brother to lose his leg and break his neck.

“I’d think they’d have someone in place to follow up immediately. Call the family. At least send condolences to say ‘hey we are sorry about what happened,’” said Timothy Peoples, the victim’s brother. “I was told someone would get back to me to follow up with the family and I’ve yet to hear from that.”

A spokesperson with Metro says the “St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department is leading the investigation into this incident so all additional information would come from them.” News 4 reached out to the sheriff’s department, but were told no one was available to speak today.

The victim’s condition is stable, family members said. Right now, it’s unclear if the victim is paralyzed.
