ST. CHARLES, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

The St. Charles County Council unanimously approved a resolution opposing a proposed development in Maryland Heights that involves Los Angeles Rams owner Stan Kroenke.

The council unanimously passed the resolution Monday after St. Charles County officials slammed the proposed development because Kroenke’s business partner, Alan Bornstein, has said it requires tax breaks from Maryland Heights. Many are also opposed because the complex would be built in flood plain.

The project would involve turning 1800 acres land near Creve Coeur Park into a residential, retail and shopping district.

Kroenke received approval to move the Rams from St. Louis to Los Angeles in January. In the team’s relocation application, the Wal Mart heir billionaire slammed St. Louis, criticizing it’s economic vitality.
