ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – St. Louis mothers who have lost their children to gun violence have a message.

Two mothers, Erica Jones and Wanda Merill, recorded anti-violence PSA’s in the studios of Radio One.

“I lost my daughter to gun violence where now I am raising my 5-year-old grandson,” said Jones.

On March 1, the PSA’s will air on Hot 104.1 and Old School 95.5.

Each advertisement promotes an upcoming End the Violence march, called The Move, organized by Better Family Life.

“I’m working with Better Family Life because as a mother who has lost her child, I feel it is time for the community to come together to do something about the violence,” said Merill.

Better Family Life is writing letters to families in St. Louis who have lost loved ones and inviting them to The Move event.

St. Louis rappers are also getting involved in The Move. The event is March 19 at Beckett Park.
