ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- Officers with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department are reviewing downtown surveillance video after a large group of teenagers damaged property Saturday night.

Police said the group of teens entered the Sauce on the Side restaurant at 411 N. 8th Street and stole a tip jar around 8:00 p.m. The tip jar contained around $25 in it, the co-owner said.

There was also damage reported at the Old Post Office Plaza, near Locust and 8th, where chairs were overturned. Police say two vehicles at 7th and Olive had window damage. A police station is only several feet.

"we've been fighting a battle for a long time trying to get people downtown. We've been here a long time, we love downtown, but you see things like this happen and it's very unfortunate. It sends the wrong message of what we're trying to down here," said Brendon Maciariello, Sauce on the Side co-owner.

No arrests were made and police have not said how many teens were part of the group.
