HILLSBORO, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A burglary in progress call led to negotiations in Hillsboro early Monday morning.
Authorities received a call for a burglary in progress on Bonito Drive. During the burglary, the home’s owner fired gunshots at the scene while the suspect was fleeing, according to officials.
When authorities arrived, they used a K-9 Unit to track the suspect to a nearby residence. Authorities said the suspect opened the front door of the residence, but refused any further contact.
A search warrant was obtained and a SERT Team was mobilized to assist. Negotiations eventually led to the suspect surrendering.
