2 hospitalized following separate overnight shootings in north St. Louis

ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – Two men were taken the hospital following separate shootings in north St. Louis overnight.

Around 10:05 p.m. Sunday, a 21-year-old man was inside his vehicle in the 4500 block of North Broadway when he noticed a vehicle driving toward him and two unknown occupants firing gunshots.

After sustaining a gunshot wound to the buttocks, the victim went to the 5800 block of Vivian where the police department was contacted. He was taken to the hospital and listed in stable condition.

Nearly six hours later, a 23-year-old man was traveling in the 800 block of North Kingshighway when he was shot in the back of the head by a man who was a passenger in an older-model Chevrolet Silverado. After being shot, the man drove himself to the hospital.

According to police, the man was found to be in possession of suspected narcotics and a firearm. He was also wanted on unrelated warrants.  He was taken into custody.
