Prosecutor takes pie in the face to raise money for abused children

( -- The Children's Advocacy Center of East Central Missouri (CAC) held it's 14th Annual Sweetheart Dinner and Dance in Washington, MO on Saturday. The highlight of the evening was Franklin County prosecuting attorney and CAC board vice president agreeing to take a pie in the face for a donation. The employees in his office pitched in $250 dollars to pay for the right to see their boss with pie all over his face.

The CAC plays a vital role in the community's response to child abuse and neglect by conducting digitally-recorded forensic interviews of physically and sexually abused children and collaborating with agencies involved in child abuse investigations. An estimated 265 people attended the event which was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall. News 4's Russell Kinsaul served as emcee of the event for the 2nd year in a row.

The CAC of East Central Missouri  serves a 10-county area with offices in Union, De Soto and Farmington.
