(KMOV.com) – An 8-year-old girl who is fighting brain cancer made an unconventional wish with the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Amelia Meyer wrapped up radiation Monday. Instead of making a wish for herself, she made a selfless wish.

“To clean the world,” Amelia said.  “Whenever we go on walks, we find trash.”

Amelia wants everyone to help her clean parks, clean neighborhoods.

“We were very touched by it, but not surprised, just very touched. It was a sweet wish,” said Jill Meyer, Amelia’s mother.

“Most wishes are to meet someone or go somewhere. This one is a bit unique,” said Pat Duncan with Make-A-Wish Missouri.

Amelia is from Kansas City where Make-A-Wish has organized four park clean ups, but her wish also extends to St. Louis, where there will be a clean up of Forest Park.

The clean-up will be held Saturday from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Make-A-Wish is encouraging those who can’t make it up to pick up trash on another day and post it to social media using #Ameliaswish.
