WENTZVILLE, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A man says he had the chance to thank two Wentzville Missouri Police officers who saved his life.

In December 2015, Marshall Featherstone collapsed in a Home Depot.

Authorities said Officer Jason Smith, from the Wentzville Missouri Police Department, was in the store during the incident. With the assistance of Officer Justin Houtz, both officers quickly performed CPR and used a defibrillator to bring him back to life.

Featherstone said, “I just shook their hands and thanked them. It’s the only words I could come up with. Thanked them for saving my life. I guess God had a place for him to be there at that time.”

Featherstone says he is slowly recovering. He says his doctors told him had it not been for the Wentzville police officers, he would not be alive.

On the evening of February 25, both officers were honored with the department’s Life Saving Award.
