CREVE COEUR, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Police in Creve Coeur hope to connect with the community by holding “Residential Security” class Thursday night.

Officers will focus on vehicle security, residential security and crime statistics during the class.

Officers in the area primarily deal with property crime, which makes up nearly 70 percent of the overall crime rate, followed by burglary and auto theft.

Even though the crime numbers have decreased over the past five years, police still want to start a conversation so residents know what is going on in their neighborhood and are aware of how to keep themselves safe.

Thursday night’s class will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Government Building’s Multi-Purpose room, located on the lower level.
