ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – Friends and family members released balloons in memory of Whitney Brown, who was murdered in front of her 5-year-old son six months ago.

Brown, 24, and Devon Fletcher, 28, were fatally shot during a drive-by on Mimika and Shulte in north St. Louis on August 13, 2015 shortly before 12:30 a.m.

Erica Jones, Brown’s mother, said, “Witnesses are very scared to come forward and we are just beginning and pleading with them, if it was your family what would you want someone to do?”

In October, police released a surveillance photo of a truck believed to be connected to the fatal shooting.

There is a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in the case.

Anyone with information about the double shooting should contact the St. Louis Police Department or CrimeStoppers.
