ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – Customers of a St. Louis County auto repair shop are complaining about losing money and in one case a car after taking their vehicles there.
News 4 Investigative Reporter Lauren Trager spoke with two customers who said they took their cars to mechanic Kerry Lippold of “Extreme Automotive” in South County.
One man, retired G.M. worker Alex Young, paid more than $4,000 to have a motor rebuilt. After several months, the car was returned, only to break down 20 miles after leaving the shop.
Patricia Jones took her SUV to Lippold for repairs but never got it back. The shop shut down and her SUV was taken to a tow lot where she was told it would cost $1,000 to get it back.
Trager made several attempts to get answers and comments from Lippold, but as of this story there has been no comment.
The Better Business Bureau reports about 30 complaints against the company.
