CASEYVILLE, Ill. (KMOV.com) – A Caseyville man is facing an aggravated assault charge after he allegedly waved a gun at a person who asked him to drive slower because children were playing in the area.

Officers with the Caseyville Police Department were called to the 1900 block of Chevy Chase Drive after a man waved a gun and threatened a person who asked him to drive slower around 1:20 p.m. Saturday, police said. After waving the gun, the suspect reportedly sped off.

After receiving a description of the suspect, later identified as Ryan S. Miniex, an officer conducted a vehicle stop and took the 30-year-old into custody without incident.

Miniex has been charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His bond was set at $20,000.
