Man arrested in connection to Feb. 5 murder in Moline Acres

MOLINE ACRES, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

The St. Louis Prosecuting Attorney's Office issued charges against a man suspected in the the killing of Tami Allen on Feb. 5 in Moline Acres.

Police charged Kevin Fields, 31, with first degree murder, one count of armed criminal action, one count of first degree robbery and one count of first degree burglary.

Police sought out Fields on Feb. 9.

Police say that at 12 a.m. on Feb. 5, a man claiming to be Allen's boyfriend contacted the police stating that Allen sent him text messages saying someone was in her house and that she couldn't speak. When the Moline Acres Police Department arrived, the officers noticed forced entry was made through the back of the of the residence. They found Allen in the living room, severely injured with multiple stab wounds. She was transferred to the local hospital where she later died.

Police now believe that on our about Feb. 4, the suspect unlawfully entered the victim's home and killed her by means of blunt force trauma and stabbing. The report says that police think that Fields stole Allen's cell phone and wallet.

Fields is in custody, but bond has not been set.
