ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

There is a major development involving St. Louis bankruptcy firm that was just the focus of a News 4 undercover investigation.

A judge now issuing an order that could lead to permanent ban on the business doing bankruptcy business in Missouri.

Critique Bankruptcy Services has until 12:00 p.m. Thursday to convince a judge they shouldn't be banned forever from Missouri federal bankruptcy courts.

“I hope they get shut down, the whole shebang, I hope they get shut down so no one else has to experience this,” said Leonard Jackson.

Jackson is just the latest person upset with Critique Services.

There have been dozens of complaints pouring in against the bankruptcy services company. News 4 has heard from nearly 20 customers complaining about losing their money and getting no service.

Critique's lawyers have been suspended by a judge for things like falsifying documents and lying to their clients.

After those suspensions, though, News 4 went in undercover and it seemed like the manager was initially all too ready to help our reporter if she was were willing to pay up.

“When you saw that clip, what did you think?” asked Investigative Reporter Lauren Trager. “Oh, my stomach just dropped, it was horrifying, I'm like oh my god,” said Jackson.

Jackson says he'd called Critique's number and met with a lawyer. He paid nearly $400 on the very same day our story aired.

His receipt looks identical to those received by others who paid Critique, even though the new lawyer said they weren't affiliated with the business.

News 4 went to the address of the new lawyer, but no one was there to talk.

News 4 received a statement from Critique, claiming the restrictions imposed by the courts are discriminatory and detrimental to Critique's clients. The NAACP has opened up a review of all of this.
