ARNOLD, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

For weeks, a wastewater plant in Fenton has been shut down, sending four million gallons of raw sewage into the Meramec River every day.

The problem started during December's historic flooding. Since the plant is not working, many people are worried about their water supply.

Friday, MSD hosted a town hall meeting in Arnold to talk about those safety concerns.

They also talked about the plant's current status, along with the steps being taken to get it back up and running.

A state representative from High Ridge says he does not approve of MSD dumping sewage into the Meramec River.
