ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- Two victims were reportedly carjacked, kidnapped and robbed in downtown St. Louis in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

According to police the victims, a 34-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman, were sitting in their vehicle in the 1200 block of Washington when two suspects approached them and asked for directions around 3:30 a.m.

The first suspect, a male, flashed a gun and told them to get in the back seat.

A second suspect, a female, got behind the wheel of the vehicle.

The victims told police they were then driven to a bank in East St. Louis, where the suspects withdrew money from the female victim’s bank account.

After stopping at the bank, the suspects reportedly dropped the two victims off near Casino Queen and fled in the vehicle. Two cell phones, a laptop and a purse were inside the vehicle when they drove off.

The vehicle was abandoned and later recovered by East St. Louis police  in the 1000 block of Division. The investigation is ongoing.
