Sullivan man reportedly fires a gunshot at opponents in argument

SULLIVAN, Mo (KMOV.com) -- A 21-year-old Sullivan man is in custody after reportedly firing a gun at two people during an argument.

According to police, Sullivan resident Andrew Gibson was in an argument with a 34-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman at the Flying J truck stop at 1500 State Highway AF Tuesday.

After the argument, Gibson allegedly grabbed a 9mm handgun from his vehicle and fired a shot into the semi tractor trailer cab the other two were in.

He then reportedly left the scene and tossed the gun onto Interstate 44. Police were dispatched to the Flying J and apprehended Gibson a short time later. They also recovered the gun.

Gibson is held on charges of armed criminal action, assault, domestic assault and unlawful use of a weapon. His bond is $100,000 cash-only.
