A north St. Louis mother is upset with a bus company after her son was dropped off at a Boys and Girls Club instead of the correct stop.

Crystal Overton told News 4 her son Jeremiah did not come home Thursday by school bus. Instead of going from Carver Elementary to his stop at Sullivan and Prairie, the First Student bus took him to the Herbert Hoover Boys and Girls Club at Grand and Dodier. The club has an afterschool program.

“I was really scared, I didn’t know if he walked off on his own or someone took him,” said Overton.

“I was frozen stiff and then I pulled myself together. I walked out of there then I started to crying,” said Jeremiah.

A supervisor with First Student told News 4 the company would look into the matter. It has a policy of taking students to the Boys and Girls Club if nobody is at the regular stop, but Overton said the bus never came by.

Overton said it took her two hours to find out where her son was.

“They weren’t friendly at all. They couldn’t give me information. In fact, they were mad at me for asking where my child is,” said Overton.
