COLLINSVILLE, Ill. (KMOV.com) -

Police conducted a sexual assault investigation that occurred in the parking lot of a dance club in Collinsville and have arrested the alleged victim for false information. Police concluded that no assault took place.

The incident occurred around 12:40 a.m. on Feb. 4 outside Wild Country. The victim told police she went out to parking lot to get some air before she began talking to a man she did not know. During their conversation, the man attempted to kiss her, police said, but she resisted his advances.

The man then grabbed her and pulled into a car and began to punch her in the face as they struggled, police said. The man then allegedly sexually assaulted her.
