Operation Recovery sets deadline for final flood debris pick-up

Posted: Updated:

Residents are being urged to to plan ahead and move debris to the curbside before Feb. 15.

Operation Recovery will start combing 20 participating jurisdictions in Franklin, Jefferson, St. Charles, and St. Louis counties with remaining residential debris piled by the curbside. The group will begin this process on Feb. 6.

The Missouri Department of Public Safety said moving the debris in advance and separating the debris into proper piles will make for a more efficient pick-up, recycle, and disposal. Those that need assistance getting their debris to the curbside should call the United Way 211 by dialing 2-1-1 or 1-800-427-4626. The 2-1-1 number can also provide information on volunteer opportunities and relief efforts.

To check for updates or check your local jurisdiction, head to the flood recovery website.

Communities outside the county jurisdictions will have debris removed by city workers, trash haulers, and contractors hired by local government or volunteers.
