MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

A business partner of Los Angeles Rams owner Stan Kroenke is asking Maryland Heights to help finance a development project near Creve Coeur Park.

Kroenke business partner Alan Bornstein, who also serves as Kroenke’s attorney, has made a pitch to Maryland Heights officials to allow him and Kroenke to turn 1800 acres of land into a residential, retail and sports district.

On Thursday night, some Maryland Heights residents voiced their opposition to taxpayer funding for the project.

Kroenke recently received approval to move the Rams to Los Angeles. In the team’s relocation application, he bashed St. Louis.
