Imagine A Better St. Louis: Express Scripts committed to corporate multiculturalism

Posted: Updated:

ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- Express Scripts is one of the most valuable companies in the country and also happens to call St. Louis home.

It places a high value on having a diversified workforce, which is well-represented by women, minorities and young people.

Senior Director of Diversity Susan Stith believes it only makes sense for the St. Louis-based company to hire the way they do because women usually make the healthcare decisions within a household.

Stith told News 4 the workforce at Express Scripts is made up of 70 percent women, 37 percent of which are minorities. The average age of an employee at the company is 42.

Lauren Masterson-Rodriguez started working for the company 2012 and was named as one of the St. Louis Business Journal’s “Top 30 Under 30” last fall. After being promoted three times she is now the director of retail strategy.

Last year, Express Scripts donated $5 million to boost education and healthcare. The company helps bring jobs to north St. Louis County.
