2 transported following head-on crash near Gerald

GERALD, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Two people were transported following a head-on crash near Gerald, Missouri Thursday.

Around 7:40 a.m., two vehicles were traveling eastbound on Highway 50 when one of them stopped and the other rear-ended it. After the collision, the driver of the second vehicle lost control and veered into the westbound lanes, striking another car head-on.

The driver of the westbound traveling vehicle was air lifted to a St. Louis hospital. The driver of the vehicle that veered into the westbound lanes was transported to a Washington, Missouri hospital.

The extent of injuries has not been released.

Gerald is located roughly 20 miles west of Union, Missouri.

    Missouri Republican Gov. Eric Greitens made his first public appearance in nearly two weeks since acknowledging an extramarital affair, announcing a budget plan that would slice at least $68 million from public colleges and universities, but the budget wasn't the only thing discussed.
