A rash of car break-ins and vandalism in Belleville have residents fed up.

Between January 28 and January 31 police responded to nine call from people saying someone vandalized, burglarized or stole their cars.

Ceonda Rowell said someone broke into her car while she and her three kids slept.

“I was terrified for one. My house is obviously right here on the street and there's my front door. I didn't hear a sound so. So I was very scared,” said Rowell.

She said the thief wanted something other than the wallet she left in her car.

“They left my wallet on the ground so anyone could have gotten my information and all they stole out of my car was my change,” said Rowell.

However, after watching News 4, a couple donated the money for Rowell to fix her car. "I'd say thank you so much! I really appreciate it. I've been trying to figure out how I was going to pay for my kids party and get my car fixed and all that good stuff," she said. "I'm so happy thank you so much."

Police are still searching for the suspects.
