Missouri Attorney General's Office sues Delaware telemarketers

Posted: Updated:
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Attorney General Chris Koster announced Wednesday that his office has filed suit against Delaware-based TRG Holdings, LLC, d/b/a TRG Philippines, Inc., and its COO Mohammed Khaisghi, as well as its subsidiary IBEX Global Solutions, d/b/a E-Telequote of Missouri, Inc., and its president and director Anthony Solazzo.  The suit is in response to more than 30 complaints from Missourians on the Missouri No-Call List about unwanted solicitation calls from the company, which was trying to sell health insurance.

The lawsuit was filed in St. Charles County Circuit Court.  In addition to No-Call violations, the lawsuit alleges that the companies continued to call Missouri residents after they requested not be contacted and called consumers at various hours of the day, even after 9 p.m. at night.

“Businesses cannot sidestep Missouri law and ignore consumer requests not to be contacted,” Koster said. “I encourage consumers on the No-Call list to report unwanted, abusive and harassing calls to my office.”

As part of the suit, Koster is asking the court to prohibit TRG and e-Telequote from making any further solicitations to Missourians.  Additionally, Koster is seeking penalties of up to $5,000 per violation of the No-Call Law, up to $1,000 per violation of the Telemarketing Law, and for recovery of the costs of the investigation and prosecution of the case.

Koster reminds Missourians they can sign up for the Do-Not-Call hotline on his website by clicking here  or by calling 1-866-662-2551. Consumers who receive harassing solicitation calls to file a complaint at 1-866-289-9633.
