ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – A north St. Louis daycare center is accused of allegedly leaving a child unattended for hours on a bus for the second time.

Authorities say two state agencies are involved in the investigation after a 3-year-old boy was left on a daycare bus for seven hours on February 1.

According to authorities, the February incident was the second time a child had been left on a bus at the GSL Developmental Center.

In 2011, authorities say a 2-year-old girl was left on the daycare bus for six hours. The mother of the girl says the school tried to cover up the incident. The mother says hearing about another family going through the same situation brought back a lot of horrifying memories.

“To me, it just makes me think, do they really care about our children and I was just in shock,” said the mother of the 2-year-old.

To make matters worse, the mother says she did not find out her daughter was left on the bus until a day later. She believes the school should be shut down.

After the 2011 incident, authorities say GSL was put on probation for nine months by the Missouri Department of Health. The same agency is investigating the latest case.

GSL chose not to comment on either case.
