Jeff Co burglar arrested after leaving I.D behind after alleged robbery

(KMOV.com) – The suspect allegedly responsible for robbing a BP Gas Station is Jefferson County won’t be too hard to track down after police found his I.D and a change of clothes in the woods.

According to police, the suspect allegedly robbed the BP Gas Station located in the 2500 block of U.S Highway 61. An unknown male subject came into the store wearing a yellow hoodie and a cloth skull mask and confronted the clerk, claiming he had a weapon.

The clerk handed the money over and the suspect fled the scene into a heavily wooded area. After police searched the area, the found the I.D and spare clothes of a man from Festus. According to the I.D, the suspect is 29-years-old.

He was then arrested and taken into custody. The name of the suspect has not been released.
