ST. PETERS, Mo. ( -- St. Peters Detectives are currently investigating a shooting in St. Charles County that may be drug related.

The shooting occurred around 10:25 p.m. in the 200 block of Sutters Mills Road in St. Peters Friday. St. Peters Police said when responding officers arrived on the scene, a female victim was found with two gunshot wounds. She was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. She is currently in stable condition.

The second victim, a man, was injured from a physical assault. The victims were identified as Spencer Dyer, 27, and Haylee Harvey, 20.

Dyer originally told police that a male suspect knocked on his door just after 10:00 p.m. and he did not answer. When he thought the subject was gone, Dyer went outside and checked. Then, three male suspects, armed with guns, ordered him back in the house. When Dyer refused, he was struck in the head with a handgun by one of the suspects.

Dyer retreated into his home and locked the door behind him. One of the suspects then fired multiple shots into the home, hitting Harvey.

The St. Peters Criminal Investigations Division re-interviewed Dyer at his home, police said it appears the shooting was drug related. After retrieving a search warrant, Dyer's home was searched and evidence was seized, St. Peters Police said. A child was also in the home at the time of the shooting, police said, but the child was not injured. Dyer and Harvey have been charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. Dyer is being held in the St. Charles County Jail. Harvey is still being treated at a local hospital for gunshot wounds.

Police said they are looking for three male suspects in connection to the shooting. The three suspects were armed with various weapons and firearms at the time of the shooting. Two of the suspects were dressed in all-black while the third suspect was dressed in a security outfit.

The St. Peters detectives are conducting the ongoing investigation.

Anyone with information about the shooting or the identities of the suspects are asked to call Detective Matt Halter at 636-278-3546 or the anonymous Crime Solvers Hotline at 636-278-1000.
