Collinsville woman facing multiple charges following struggle with officers

CASEYVILLE, Ill. (KMOV.com) – A Collinsville woman is facing multiple charges after she slammed a door against a Caseyville officer’s arm while he was trying to serve an arrest warrant.

Caseyville police officers arrived at Angela R. Padgett’s residence on VFW Lane to serve an arrest warrant around 10:55 a.m. Tuesday.

When an officer told the 48-year-old she was under arrest, the suspect slammed a door against his arm causing a minor injury, police said. Officers said they then entered her home and, following a short struggle, took Padgett into custody.

Officers said they found drug paraphernalia, methamphetamine, and cocaine inside Padgett’s residence.

Padgett has been charged with unlawful possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and aggravated battery. Her bond was set at $60,000.
